Product description
This push-button switch serves as an input element in electronic circuits. The round actuator button is mounted on a compact 6 * 6 * 6 mm housing and closes the circuit when pressed, immediately opening it again when released.
The two terminals allow direct solder mounting on a circuit board or use on a breadboard without additional adapters. In microcontroller circuits, one terminal is typically connected to a digital input and the other to ground. An internal or external pull-up resistor then ensures that the input has a defined voltage level when the button is not pressed.
The rated load of 50 mA at 12 V DC limits direct use to small loads such as LEDs or indicator lamps. An interposed relay or transistor is required for switching larger loads. The temperature range of −30 to +70 °C also allows use in environments outside enclosed rooms.
Typical applications include controls in prototypes and low-voltage devices, menu navigation in display circuits, or input of trigger commands in control circuits. Its small footprint makes this push-button particularly suitable for densely populated circuit boards and for building experimental setups.
Safety information
The push-button is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes and is not suitable for installation in household mains circuits. Work on or near electrical installations must be carried out by a qualified electrician; if you are unsure about the circuit design or current load, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
