Product description
An integrated CO2 sensor with temperature and humidity measurement enables air quality monitoring in enclosed spaces. The module uses infrared absorption to determine the carbon dioxide concentration while simultaneously measuring temperature and humidity. Since the sensor automatically adjusts its measurement accuracy based on the recorded environmental parameters, separate calibration is not required during practical operation.
The module communicates via I2C, allowing it to be integrated into existing measurement setups without additional connecting wires. The 3.3 V operating voltage means direct compatibility with common development boards and single-board computers that use this voltage level. Current consumption remains low even over longer measurement periods.
The measurement range up to 5000 ppm CO2 covers typical indoor air monitoring and also detects significantly elevated concentrations, such as those caused by poor ventilation or many people in indoor spaces. The temperature measurement range of −10 to +60 °C is suitable for indoor spaces and temperate outdoor areas. Applications include indoor climate loggers in offices and classrooms, ventilation controls that respond to CO2 thresholds, and air quality traffic lights in public buildings.
Operation requires a 3.3 V power supply; a suitable voltage regulator must be provided when using power sources with a higher voltage. The I2C bus requires compatible logic levels on both sides, and appropriate readout software is required to process the measured values.
Safety information
The module is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes, not for installation in the household mains circuit or permanent installation in critical systems. The data sheet specifications must be checked before commissioning. Consult a qualified electrician if you have questions about electrical safety or voltage compatibility.
