Product description
The RP2040 microcontroller in a compact Zero format provides complete processor functionality on a minimal circuit board footprint. The board combines the powerful dual-core processor with sufficient RAM and flash memory for control tasks in portable devices, sensor networks, and integrated automation systems. The USB-C interface is used for both power supply and programming, eliminating the need for additional connections.
The 30 GPIO pins enable the parallel control of multiple sensors and actuators. The operating voltage range of 1.8 to 5.5 V allows operation with various power sources, such as USB ports, batteries, or power supplies with regulated outputs. The dual-core design distributes tasks across two processor cores, enabling, for example, simultaneous sensor data acquisition and communication. No calibration or external programming devices are required; the development environment loads code directly via USB.
Typical applications include portable data loggers that run on batteries for several hours, or sensor nodes in measurement networks that continuously record environmental data. The compact format is also suitable for installation in robotics projects as a control module or for controlling simple actuators in IoT applications.
A standard USB-C cable is required for programming and operation. The MicroPython firmware and the necessary tools are available free of charge. C/C++ programming requires the open-source SDK, which is also provided free of charge.
Safety information
The board is not intended for use in household electrical circuits or with mains voltage. It is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. Work on or near electrical cables and installations may only be carried out by a qualified electrician; if you have any questions, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
