Product description
A dual-channel PWM signal generator produces square-wave output voltages whose frequency and pulse width can be adjusted independently. The module is based on pulse-width modulation, in which the signal's on-time is varied in relation to the period. This enables the control of loads such as motors, servos, or LED brightness using the duty-cycle setting, while the frequency determines the switching rate.
The frequency range from 1 Hz to 100 kHz covers both slow control tasks and high-frequency applications. The output levels from 0 to 5 V are directly compatible with common microcontroller boards and logic modules; for devices with 3.3 V logic, a level shifter must be connected between them. The pin-header connection enables easy mounting on standard prototyping boards or flexible wiring in circuit setups.
Typical applications include proportional brightness control of LED arrays, variable-speed control of DC motors, and excitation of piezo actuators with adjustable amplitude. PWM signals are also used in audio technology for tone-frequency testing. In everyday prototyping laboratory work, the module is used to develop and debug PWM-controlled circuits without having to purchase a function generator.
The module is generally supplied without an external power supply and draws its operating voltage from the host board. The exact connection logic and calibration parameters for frequency generation depend on the underlying IC or circuit design and should be checked in the corresponding documentation before use.
Safety notice
The module is intended exclusively for prototyping, testing, and development purposes. It must not be used to control loads in industrial power circuits or on the mains. If you have questions about integrating it into an existing system, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
