Product Description

The precision instrumentation amplifier is suitable for conditioning low voltages from sensors or bridge circuits. With two independently configurable channels, different measurement signals can be amplified in parallel.

The gain is set using external resistors and can be selected between a factor of 1 and 10000. The integrated low-pass filter, with a cutoff frequency of up to 10 kHz, suppresses interference voltages above this threshold and thus significantly reduces system noise. The output level is adapted to the measurement range of the connected analog-to-digital converter, with no additional circuitry required.

Typical applications include evaluating thermocouples, where millivolt signals are brought up to control levels, or acquiring measurements from resistive sensors using bridge amplifiers. Even in test benches with low resolution, the variable gain produces reliable measurement values without requiring multiple amplifier types.

The device can be powered either symmetrically with ±5 to ±15 V or from a single 5- to 30-V source. The datasheet provides gain tables for all important resistor values, eliminating the need for calibration. Use requires basic knowledge of analog circuits and a low-frequency measuring instrument for verification.
