Product Description
This dosing pump works on the peristaltic principle. A roller mechanism alternately compresses and releases the tube, allowing liquids to be pumped without coming into contact with moving parts. This makes the pump particularly suitable for aggressive, viscous, or crystalline liquids.
The pump runs on 12 V DC, and its flow rate can be continuously adjusted using PWM signals from microcontrollers. This enables precise dosing, from just a few milliliters up to the maximum capacity of 500 ml/min. The pump is protected against dry running, as the tube is not damaged even when empty.
In laboratories, this pump can reliably dose nutrient solutions for bioreactor experiments. It is also well suited to aquarium automation because it does not contaminate the water and keeps dosing volumes consistent. It is also useful in model-making and automated liquid distribution systems, for example, to moisten substrate or dispense small quantities.
A power supply with a stable 12 V output capable of supplying the current required under load is needed to operate the pump. Tube length and type also affect the suction lift and maximum delivery head, so they should be selected to suit the application. Tubes wear out with prolonged use and must be replaced periodically.
