Product Description
The OLED display is a monochrome display module with an I2C interface that can be connected directly to development boards and single-board computers. The 128*128 pixels allow text, symbols, and simple graphics to be displayed on an area measuring approximately four centimeters per side.
The SH1107 controller manages the pixel mapping internally, meaning that data can be transmitted line by line without the complete display logic having to be handled by the board. The I2C bus allows multiple sensors or additional output modules to be operated on the same lines; only ground, power, and two signal wires are required. When used with 5 V boards, a level shifter is required to protect the display's 3.3 V inputs.
Typical applications include measurement chamber interfaces in laboratory setups, status displays in robotics projects, or control panels for data loggers. Such a display is also helpful for error output and debugging during development. For mobile or portable battery-powered prototypes, the brightness and low power consumption of OLED technology are advantageous.
A suitable programming library for the SH1107 controller in the selected development environment is required; commonly used variants are generally available. The connections use a standard pin layout with through-hole connections. With 5 V logic, a separate level shifter must be planned for.
