Product description
This monochrome OLED display shows text and graphics on an area of 128 * 64 pixels. The display emits its own light and therefore requires no additional illumination, which is advantageous for battery-powered projects. It is controlled via the I2C bus, meaning that only two data lines and a power supply are required, while the number of necessary connections to the microcontroller remains minimal.
The two I2C addresses can be changed using solder bridges, allowing multiple displays to be operated on a shared bus. Operation is exclusively at 3.3 V, so direct connection to 5 V boards is not possible without a level shifter. Ready-made library software is usually available for control, so custom implementation is rarely required.
The display is suitable for status indicators in portable devices, sensor module outputs in measurement setups, and menu navigation in small projects. A typical scenario is displaying readings from a temperature or humidity sensor together with a status message in a very small space. Displaying debugging information during development is also straightforward.
A microcontroller or single-board computer with an I2C interface and 3.3 V logic levels, as well as a corresponding software library, is required. The connections are provided via dual-row pin headers with a standard pitch.
