Product description

This 4.3-inch touchscreen with 480 * 272 pixels provides a customizable control component for microcontroller projects. Communication takes place via UART using only four wires, eliminating interface conflicts and keeping wiring manageable.

The integrated processor independently handles the user interface, graphics, and touch detection. This means that no processing load is placed on the connected microcontroller. Interfaces are created using the free Nextion Editor software and then transferred to the display. This saves storage space on the microcontroller board and significantly simplifies the program logic.

This display is used in home automation applications, where sensors and actuators are controlled via an intuitive interface, or in mobile measuring instruments that record and visualize data. Industrial prototypes, for example for process monitoring or drive parameterization, make use of the large display area. The display also proves useful as a central control station in test setups with multiple sensors.

The display requires a clean 5 V power supply with a capacity of approximately 300 mA, as well as a suitable UART connection on the microcontroller. Development requires the Nextion Editor software for PC, which is available free of charge. The resistive touchscreen responds to pressure, not mere proximity.

Safety information

The display is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes, and is not suitable for installation in household electrical circuits. A power supply with significantly higher voltages will irreparably damage the device. Work on or near electrical installations must be carried out by qualified electricians; if you are unsure about the correct power supply and voltage levels, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
