Product Description
The multifunction shield adds essential input and output functions to Arduino UNO and MEGA boards on a single circuit board. The screw terminals enable easy connection of sensors, actuators, and power supplies without plug connections. This eliminates the need to build wiring on a breadboard or use individual components.
The module uses the microcontroller's available GPIO pins and makes them accessible via standardized connection blocks. The digital outputs control relays, motors, or lights. Analog inputs record measurement values from sensors such as temperature, light, or humidity sensors. The integrated RTC module provides timestamps and enables time-based processes even without an external power supply, as it has a battery holder.
Typical applications include home automation with time-controlled switches, data logging of sensor readings over longer periods, or maintenance tasks in prototype systems. Setting up simple alarm functions is also significantly accelerated by the preassembled circuitry.
An Arduino UNO or MEGA board is required. The shield is plugged onto the pin headers and requires no additional power supply when the host board is powered. For battery-backed timekeeping, a button cell (usually CR2032) must be inserted.
