Product Description
This infrared motion sensor detects the thermal radiation of people and animals and emits an electrical signal when movement is detected. The module operates without contact and responds to changes in position within a detection range of up to seven meters, while its approximately 110-degree field of view determines the usual installation location.
A delay potentiometer can be calibrated to delay times between a few seconds and five minutes, making the module suitable, for example, for lighting that remains on for longer after motion is detected. The module stores the motion status to prevent false triggers caused by individual motion pulses. Power consumption in standby mode is less than one milliampere, allowing the sensor to operate longer in battery-powered systems.
The module directly controls relays, LED drivers, or small motors, or generates interrupt signals for controller boards. The sensor is used in automatic lighting systems for hallways and stairwells, in monitoring systems with alarm functions, and in presence detection circuits for energy-efficient ventilation. The module is also used in mobile robots and motion detectors for experiments.
The module requires a power supply in the range of 4.5 to 12 volts. If the operating voltage differs, the output must be kept separate from digital 5 V logic inputs. The warm-up time after switching on is approximately 30 seconds, during which the sensor array must stabilize.
