Product description
The vibration motor is a DC motor with an offset brass wheel mounted on its shaft. This imbalance generates a vibration during rotation, which is transferred to the entire motor housing and its mounting.
The motor is connected via two solder tabs at the rear end of the housing and operated with a DC voltage between 3 and 6 V. Since it draws more current than a microcontroller output can provide, control requires a transistor or driver stage as an intermediate interface. The direction of rotation depends on the polarity, but this does not affect the vibration.
The foam casing dampens operating noise and reduces the transmission of vibrations to unwanted areas. With a length of 20 mm, a diameter of 12 mm (without foam), and a weight of just 9 g, the motor fits into tightly dimensioned housings. This makes it suitable for toys, model making, portable small devices, or massage devices - anywhere tactile feedback is required.
An external power source is required for the power supply, as is a driver circuit for control from the microcontroller.
