Product Description

The N20 mini gear motor is a compact DC motor with an integrated planetary gearbox that reduces the speed and increases the available torque. Depending on the version, various voltage range options are available; the operating voltage is between 3 and 12 V. The torque ranges from a few to several hundred gram-centimeters, while the no-load speed ranges from approximately 100 to over 1,000 revolutions per minute. The exact values depend on the selected gear ratio.

The plastic gear train wears slowly and operates with little play, reliably transferring the motor power to the output shaft. Current consumption increases under load, so an appropriate power supply or battery must be selected. The motor shaft can be fitted directly with wheels, propellers, or other components, either using adhesive or mechanical adapters such as bushings and gears.

Typical applications include robot drive systems with adjustable speed, conveyor belts in model projects, gripper arm drives, and valve drives in automation setups. The motor is particularly well suited when constant torque is required for several minutes and the speed is to be adjusted using pulse-width modulation or external current controllers.

A motor driver is required for control. It must provide the selected operating voltage and protect the motor against overcurrent. Depending on the installation location, a mechanical mount must be designed or sourced separately. The rated speed should not be exceeded continuously in order to protect the gearbox.
