Product description
This soldering practice project combines training in SMD soldering techniques with a functional project. An LED dot matrix is arranged on a circuit board, with small surface-mount components that present typical challenges when fine soldering. After assembly, the finished circuit displays the time and current temperature and functions as a standalone clock.
The project provides practical hands-on training, as each individual LED must be secured with fine solder wire. Tasks such as dispensing, placing, and soldering are repeated until confidence and speed improve. At the same time, an everyday display is created for a desk or shelf, making the results of the practice immediately visible.
A power supply is required for operation. The circuit board contains the necessary logic for timekeeping and temperature measurement. Depending on the version, the number of LEDs and therefore the display resolution varies.
Safety information
Soldering produces fumes, and the soldering tip becomes very hot. Ensure adequate ventilation and take appropriate precautions. This product is intended exclusively for assembling prototypes and for testing and development purposes and is not suitable for installation in the household electrical circuit. Work on or near electrical installations is reserved for qualified electricians. If you are unsure about the power supply or operation, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
