Product description
The linear actuator moves loads in a straight line via an electrically driven lead screw. Its design follows the operating principle of a hydraulic cylinder, but it uses 12 V DC instead of hydraulic fluid. A three-phase brake secures the end position without a power supply.
When current flows, a DC motor rotates the threaded nut while the rod can extend and retract linearly. Limit switches automatically interrupt the power supply when the maximum stroke is reached. Depending on the version, the stroke length and available force vary; choosing the right variant is particularly important for heavy loads.
The actuator is suitable for lifting tables, adjustable chairs and beds, storage management systems with access to multiple levels, or workshop carts with height-adjustable work surfaces. Such drives are also used in the manufacture of prostheses or medical devices.
Power consumption depends on the load and stroke speed. In fast-stroke mode, the available force is reduced. Operation requires a 12 V power source with sufficient current capacity and a control relay or contactor to switch the motor and direction. The IP54 protection rating has limitations in cases of direct exposure to water or in dusty environments.
