Product Description
The servo is an analog actuator for positioning and torque applications in a range of up to 180 degrees. It is controlled via PWM signals (pulse-width modulation), with a pulse width between 1 and 2 milliseconds determining the target position. Positioning accuracy depends on the stability of the controlling system.
Torque varies with the operating voltage. At 4.8 V, it is 10 kg*cm; at 6 V, it increases to 13 kg*cm. This makes the servo suitable for light to medium mechanical loads; higher voltages are not supported. The standard connector enables direct connection to common servo connections on microcontroller boards or servo driver modules.
Typical applications include robot joint control, model aircraft, camera panning, and control valves in prototypes. In model making, the servo enables control of control surfaces or steering axes with high repeatability.
An external power supply in the range of 4.8 to 6 V is required for operation. PWM control is provided via a digital pin of the microcontroller, typically at a frequency of 50 Hz. A separate servo driver module is not strictly necessary if the microcontroller can provide sufficient current during idle operation; however, higher loads or multiple servos require an external power supply with sufficient capacity.
Safety Notice
The servo is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. Do not overload the gears; blockages can cause damage and overheating. If there is no protection against mechanical overload, gears may break.
