Product description
An electromagnetic bolt with 12 V DC operation, designed for switching mechanical locks in doors, enclosures, and containers. When current flows, the solenoid generates a magnetic field that pulls in the bolt and releases the lock. The high holding force of 350 newtons enables use on heavy metal doors and sturdy protective enclosures, while the non-latching release ensures that unlocking is available at any time.
Control is performed using a simple DC switching arrangement, with correct polarity being essential. With switching times in the millisecond range, the bolt can be integrated into automation processes, such as cycle-controlled door locking in laboratory equipment or electronically controlled access control in smaller systems. The module can also be used as a locking element in emergency shutdown circuits.
Operation requires a power source with regulated 12 V DC that supplies sufficient current (see datasheet). A flyback diode to protect the control circuit from voltage spikes is recommended when the bolt is controlled via electronic switches (relay, transistor). A mechanical lock or additional locking mechanism may need to be installed separately.
Safety information
Observe the correct polarity when connecting to the power supply. This product is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes and is not suitable for integration into structural security systems. If you are unsure about correct integration into existing systems, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
