Product description
A load cell is a force transducer that converts weights of up to 50 kg into electrical signals. Measurement is performed using strain gauges in a Wheatstone bridge circuit, which converts mechanical deformation of the material into a change in voltage. This principle enables an accuracy of ±0.1%, making the load cell suitable for applications with higher requirements.
The output signal is weak and requires an amplifier for processing by a microcontroller or data acquisition system. Depending on the application, the analog value can be used directly or transmitted digitally. The load cell requires a stable power supply of 5 V or 12 V; voltage fluctuations significantly distort the measurement result.
In everyday projects, load cells are used in laboratory scales, dosing devices for fill levels, load-monitoring systems for suspended structures, and load-capacity monitoring alarms. One practical example is the construction of a digital postal scale, in which the load cell is mounted on a platform and the amplifier is connected directly to a single-board computer. The measuring range of up to 50 kg covers the most common applications in prototyping and laboratories.
For operation, an amplifier or an ADC module with an appropriately low resolution is unsuitable. The load cell must be protected from impacts and overloads, as damage to the strain gauges can cause failure. Temperature changes affect the signal; calibration after extended periods of storage is recommended.

During installation, weights must rest centrally on the load cell; otherwise, measurement errors and material fatigue may occur. The product is intended exclusively for prototyping and testing and development purposes; it must not be installed in scales used for commercial trade or official measurements.
