Product Description

An analog joystick with two axis outputs records position and movement data as digital readings. The module provides three signals: horizontal deflection (X), vertical deflection (Y), and the binary switching state of the pushbutton beneath the stick. It operates directly with 5 V logic boards such as the Leonardo R3 or other 5 V-oriented microcontrollers.

Each axis provides 1024 levels, enabling fine-grained resolution even with small ranges of motion. The stick mechanically returns to the center position, ensuring that idle states can be reliably detected. The analog inputs do not use the I2C or SPI protocol, but instead directly use the controller's available ADC channels.

The module is used in toy controls, robotics projects for manually controlling movement, menu navigation in embedded systems, and simulators. For example, a drone prototype could receive control commands via four axes by combining two such modules.

The module is supplied without a power supply or circuit board. The three outputs must be connected to three separate inputs on the board; two of them should be analog inputs. EMC measures may be necessary with very long cables.
