Product description
This single-board computer with an ATMEGA32U4 microcontroller is suitable for prototypes and test setups in electronics development. Unlike many related boards, the device can be programmed and controlled directly via the USB connection without requiring a separate programmer. The integrated USB functionality also enables the direct simulation of input devices such as keyboards or mice.
The board is powered with 5 V and can be connected either via USB or an external power source. The 32 digital connections are used to control sensors and actuators; six of them support pulse-width modulation for variable output values such as motor speed or LED brightness. The 12 analog inputs capture continuous measurement values from sensors. Programming is performed via the Arduino IDE, a free development environment that is widely used and does not require additional drivers on Windows systems.
The board can be used in numerous projects, including robot control with multiple motors and sensors, interactive art installations with sensor input and USB output, automation of laboratory equipment, or simple data acquisition with graphical evaluation on a PC. One specific scenario is controlling multiple servos for a robotic arm while distance sensors limit its movement and the board simultaneously reports its current status to the computer via USB.
A USB cable for programming and power is required, as well as an external power source if the USB port does not supply sufficient power, and a computer with the Arduino IDE. The board is not intended for permanent installation in household appliances or operation at mains voltage.
Safety information
The board operates with 5 V logic levels; direct connection to 3.3 V systems without a level shifter will cause errors or damage. This product is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes and is not intended for installation in household electrical circuits. Work on or near electrical installations must be carried out by qualified electricians; if in doubt, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
