Product description
The module combines a 1-Wire temperature sensor with a direct digital output. Unlike analog sensors, no A/D conversion is required; the measured values are available as digital values. The sensor measures temperatures from −55 °C to +125 °C with a maximum resolution of 0.0625 °C. Calibration is performed at the factory, so no subsequent adjustment is required.
The 1-Wire interface requires only a single data pin on the microcontroller. This allows multiple sensors to be connected in parallel to the same pin without the need for additional wiring. The pre-installed pull-up resistor reduces the wiring to three connections: ground, supply voltage, and data line. The operating voltage of 3 V to 5.5 V makes the module compatible with 3.3 V and 5 V systems.
Typical applications include temperature monitoring in cabinets and enclosures, measurements in liquids using waterproof sensor housings, and climate control in small projects. Developers also use the ability to operate many sensors on a single port in multisensor systems for detecting temperature gradients.
The module requires a compatible library or driver module for 1-Wire communication. A separate power supply must be provided to power the connected devices. Applications outside the range of −55 °C to +125 °C are beyond the sensor's specifications.
Safety notice
