Product description
A CPU cooler for the single-board computer significantly reduces the processor temperature under load. The aluminum housing dissipates heat from the Broadcom chip, while the 40-millimeter fan generates a constant airflow. The RGB LEDs in the cooling fin can be controlled via a digital data line and illuminate as desired or automatically as a temperature indicator.
The heatsink is attached directly to the processor using the included thermal paste. Installation options include plug-in mounting via the GPIO header or a screw connection to the housing. The fan draws its 5-volt power supply from the GPIO connector, so no additional cable is required. RGB LED control uses one GPIO pin for digital signals.
Cooling is useful wherever the Raspberry Pi 4 performs sustained tasks, requires significant computing power, or is operated in higher temperatures. Examples include long-term measurement data acquisition, demanding image processing, or continuous operation as a network server. Without active cooling, the processor throttles its clock frequency as soon as a threshold is exceeded to protect itself. The cooler significantly prevents or delays this throttling.
A Raspberry Pi 4 is required for operation. RGB LED control requires a Python script or similar software, as the colors do not light up without programming. The heatsink does not fit next to large-volume HAT modules; the height should be measured beforehand when using space-saving add-ons.
