Product description
The T-shaped breakout board with ribbon cable provides access to the Raspberry Pi 2B's 40 GPIO pins for working with external electronic components. Instead of forcing jumper wires directly into the header, the connector is fanned out into two parallel rows of perfboard holes. This significantly reduces contact problems and wiring mix-ups.
The arrangement in perfboard rows allows several sensors or actuators to be connected simultaneously and the circuit to be set up securely on a prototyping board. Anyone testing prototypes with different combinations of temperature, humidity, motion, or light sensors benefits from the compact wiring. The organized pin assignment also saves time when setting up multiple LEDs or relays.
The ribbon cable allows flexible placement of the breakout board next to the single-board computer without putting strain on the GPIO header. The Raspberry Pi 2B itself is required for operation, as is a suitable power supply. Perfboards and connection cables must be purchased separately.
Safety notice
The breakout board is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. It must not be connected to the mains power supply. Qualified electricians are responsible for work on or near electrical installations.
