Product description
The HX711AD is a weighing sensor with an attached load cell that detects weights of up to 3 kg and outputs them digitally. The 24-bit analog-to-digital converter generates high-resolution measurements and transmits them serially to connected devices. This allows you to build scales, portioning devices, and load monitoring systems that require accurate weight displays.
The device operates with a 5 V supply voltage and must be calibrated before it can provide measurements. A known reference weight is required for this purpose to calibrate the sensor to the physical weighing platform. The serial interface connects the sensor to microcontroller boards; a standard UART connection enables communication without additional special adapters.
The sensor is suitable for laboratory scales in student experiments, feeding machines that dispense precise portions, and container fill-level monitoring in prototypes. It can also be used in robotics when robot arms need to be load-sensitive. Measurements below 100 grams are reliably detected.
A separate 5 V power supply is required for operation. The load cell must be protected from moisture and mechanical shock, as it consists of delicate components. Measurements above 3 kg are not possible; overloading will damage the cell.
Safety information
The load cell must not get wet and must be protected from weights exceeding 3 kg. The module is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes and is not suitable for installation in the household power supply.
