Product Description
A brushless motor with this speed constant is suitable for lightweight aircraft models, multicopters, and fast racing drones. The 1400 KV rating means that the motor runs 1400 revolutions per minute faster for each volt of input voltage; at a battery voltage of 11.1 V (3 lithium-polymer cells), the motor reaches approximately 15,540 RPM while developing the necessary torque for propellers in the 5 to 6 inch range. The one-piece aluminum housing withstands the centrifugal forces generated during operation and provides the necessary stability.
The motor requires an electronic speed controller to convert the battery voltage into a controlled rotational speed. The specified current range of 20 to 40 A makes it clear that a suitably rated controller is necessary; a controller below 20 A would quickly become overloaded, while one rated for more than 50 A would not be suitably matched. The ball-bearing support of the rotor shaft ensures a long service life, even under vibration.
In practice, this motor is used in aerial photography drones, where lightweight construction and efficiency are crucial, as well as in FPV racing drones (First Person View) that need to reach top speeds. RC glider models also use this type as a drive system for short climbs.
Operation requires a 3-cell lithium-polymer battery pack (11.1 V nominal voltage), an electronic brushless speed controller between the battery and motor, and a suitably sized propeller and control connection (usually a remote-control system with receiver). The maximum battery charging voltage must not exceed 12.6 V; otherwise, the winding may be damaged.
Safety Notice
The rotor shaft and propeller rotate at high speed when current is flowing and can cause injuries. Therefore, always remove the propeller before connecting the speed controller to the power supply. The motor is intended exclusively for the construction of aircraft models and prototype applications. Work on or near electrical installations is reserved for qualified electricians.
