Product description
The motor is a brushless direct-current motor for DJI-series multicopter frames and similar quadcopters. The high winding constant of 935 kilovolts enables high-frequency operation and good efficiency with smaller propellers. The CW rotation direction (clockwise) complements the CCW version to form a complete set for stabilized helicopters.
Control is provided by an electronic speed controller (ESC) with a PWM input signal, as supplied by standard flight controllers. The maximum current draw of 15 amperes limits propeller size and thrust; overloading can cause the controller to shut down or damage the windings. Anyone wishing to build more powerful frames will need motors with a lower winding constant and higher current capacity.
The motor is suitable for small to medium-sized multicopters in quadcopter format and as a replacement part for existing DJI systems. A complete propulsion system requires four of these motors with CW rotation, four more with CCW rotation, suitable controllers, and propellers of the correct size. Without coordinating controller calibration, motor pairing, and the center of gravity, the helicopter will not operate stably.
Proper operation depends on the ESC being designed for this winding constant; incorrectly selected parameters can cause vibration or motor failure. Storage requires care, as contamination or damage to the magnetic rotor can significantly impair smooth running.
Safety information
The motor is not intended for operation at mains voltage and is exclusively intended for building prototypes and test models. Rotating propellers reach high speeds that can cause injuries; the running motor must be protected from contact. Connect the motor only via a suitable electronic speed controller and observe the safety guidelines for the complete aircraft.
