Product Description
A dual slider is a linear potentiometer with two independently movable controls, each providing a proportional voltage at its output. The two channels can be controlled completely independently, allowing you to manually set or regulate two different analog values simultaneously.
The operating principle is based on the classic voltage divider. The slider divides the resistance, and the tapped voltage depends on its position. With an operating voltage of 5 V, each control provides an output voltage range between 0 and 5 V, which can be connected directly to the ADC inputs of a microcontroller board. A separate voltage regulator is not required as long as the board itself provides 5 V.
The two analog channels make the module suitable for interface simulations, sound parameter control, or real-time control of mechanical actuators in experimental setups. In everyday laboratory use, it can also serve as a voltage source for testing and calibration when variable analog input signals need to be supplied. One specific example is the simultaneous control of two LED brightness levels, with each slider independently setting the current of a different LED.
The slider operates without wear as long as no dirt enters the mechanism. To put it into operation, assign an ADC input to each channel. Calibration is performed by reading the values at the upper and lower ends of the movement range.
