Product description
A dual fan for actively cooling single-board computers such as the Raspberry Pi uses two propellers to prevent heat buildup under load. It is powered directly via the host device's GPIO pins with 5 V, so no separate power supply is required.
The temperature-dependent control dynamically regulates the speed. At low loads, the fan runs slowly or switches off; as the temperature rises, the speed automatically increases. This prevents unnecessary noise when idle while also reducing heat under full load. The fan is mounted on an aluminium heatsink, which is connected to the processor using thermal compound.
Possible applications include systems with continuous computing workloads, such as media servers, network storage systems, or continuous data acquisition via sensors. In compact enclosures where convection alone is insufficient, the active cooling circuit also contributes to operational stability.
A freely accessible GPIO header with unused pins for the power connection is required. Installation in standard enclosures is possible, but the available space must be checked. If you have questions about the GPIO pinout, consult a specialist retailer or the device documentation before commissioning.
Safety notice
The fan is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. Incorrect GPIO wiring can cause the host device to fail. Check the pinout against the official documentation before connecting the power. Consult a qualified electrician if anything is unclear.
