Product Description
The rotary potentiometer has three pins with standard 2.54 mm spacing and fits directly into a breadboard or perfboard without requiring additional wires. The moving wiper travels along a resistive track. Two of the three pins are connected to the ends of this track, while the third is connected to the wiper. Turning the knob moves the wiper and continuously changes the resistance between this pin and the end pins from 0 to 10 kOhm.
The voltage at the wiper can be read when both end pins are connected to the supply voltage and ground, and the wiper is connected to an analog input on the microcontroller. This makes the potentiometer suitable for manually adjusting LED brightness, tuning an amplifier stage, or setting a reference value. The pins arranged in a row also make the component mechanically very stable on the breadboard.
Safety Notice
The potentiometer is intended exclusively for prototyping, testing, and development, and is not for installation in household electrical wiring. Work on or near electrical installations must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
