Product Description

A solderless LED clock is assembled from plug-in modules that can be connected without tools. Its operating principle is based on a microcontroller or simple timer IC that drives the LED segments at timed intervals to display hours, minutes and, if applicable, seconds. This completely eliminates soldering, allowing anyone who does not own a soldering station or prefers to avoid the work to build a functional clock.

The individual modules plug into pin headers or connect to one another via proprietary connectors. The time module, LED display and power supply are separate, but can be connected using simple plug-in connections. The number of required connections is therefore minimal, and errors caused by incorrect connections can be easily corrected without having to remove soldered connections.

For learning environments, the kit is suitable for initial projects involving digital time measurement and LED control. The LED clock is also used in room decorations, desk setups or as an experimental object in makerspaces because the assembly time is short and it provides immediate successful results. Individual modules can be replaced later without damaging the others.
