Product description
The DHT11 is a combined temperature and humidity sensor with digital output. It connects directly to a microcontroller and outputs both measured values via a simple single-wire protocol that requires only one signal line. This eliminates the need for complex analog measuring circuits and analog-to-digital converters.
The sensor measures temperatures from 0 to 50 °C and relative humidity between 20 and 80%. Accuracy is ±2 °C for temperature and ±5% for humidity, which is sufficient for many practical applications. Calibration is not required because measured-value processing is already integrated.
Typical applications include indoor climate monitoring in homes or workshops, automatic irrigation with humidity measurement, data loggers for storage or cultivation conditions, and weather stations. Projects with simple control systems, such as automatic ventilation or heating, can also be implemented.
Operation requires a supply voltage between 3.3 and 5.5 V. The sensor can be connected to all common microcontroller boards; an interface module is not required. A power supply and the corresponding control software must be provided.
Safety information
This sensor is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. The operating voltage must not exceed the specified limits to prevent damage. If you have questions about integrating it into an existing system, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
