Product Description
This DIY capacitance meter kit is intended for electronics enthusiasts who want to test their components before use or determine the capacitance values of unknown components. The kit contains all the required electronic components; assembling them on the included circuit board requires soldering and circuit diagram reading experience.
The measurement is based on a high-frequency measuring circuit that integrates the capacitor under test into an oscillating circuit and evaluates the resulting frequency change. The result is displayed digitally on the LCD in ranges from picofarads to microfarads. Calibration before measurement is not required.
In laboratory use, the device helps sort worn components or identify unlabeled components. During circuit development, faulty or aged capacitors can be detected quickly without desoldering them. Repair shops can also perform quick tests when capacitance deviations cause malfunctions.
Depending on the version, the device is powered via a USB connection or two to four battery cells; the applicable version can be identified from the component list. When operating from AC power, a separate USB adapter must be provided. The maximum measurement accuracy is approximately two percent and applies to medium capacitance ranges; very small or very large values have higher tolerances.
