Product Description

This connection cable with a female DC socket connects external power supplies or power sources to development boards and sensors. The connector follows the widely used 5.5 mm standard, so it fits common barrel-plug power supplies and is not limited to specific manufacturers.

The socket supplies the operating voltage from the external power supply to the connected module up to its specified current. The cable has bare ends and, depending on the application, can be soldered directly to the circuit being powered or connected via terminal blocks. This provides compatibility between power supplies and boards whose power supply does not include a dedicated plug-in power supply.

Typical applications include powering microcontroller boards, sensor networks, and actuators from laboratory power sources or commercially available plug-in power supplies in the voltage range of 5 to 12 volts. In mobile experimental setups, the cable is connected between a portable battery and the board, simplifying the quick reconfiguration of test setups.

For continuous operation, the permissible current rating of the cable and its compatibility with the connected circuit should be checked in advance. The bare cable ends require secure termination or connection to a plug-in connector system.
