Product Description
This speed controller controls brushed motors in model vehicles or lightweight robotics applications. It accepts PWM signals generated by RC receivers or microcontroller boards and varies the motor voltage accordingly. The maximum current draw of 5 A sets the upper limit for the motor and therefore the overall power; drives requiring more current need a more powerful controller.
Support for 2S and 3S lithium polymer batteries makes the controller flexible in terms of power supply. A 2S battery delivers approximately 7.4 V, while a 3S battery delivers approximately 11.1 V, resulting in different motor performance. Integrating it into the system is straightforward: connect the PWM signal from the control system, the motor, and the battery, and you are ready to go.
This controller is typically used in model racing cars, drones with brushed motors, and smaller robotic chassis. For example, a lightweight vehicle can develop sufficient forward and reverse power with a 2S battery and this controller, without requiring separate relays or motor direction controllers. Reversibility is integrated.
The controller does not require an external power supply; it draws all the necessary energy from the battery. A PWM-capable control signal and the motor's mechanical connection are the only other requirements. Please note that continuous operation under maximum load generates heat; natural or assisted ventilation is therefore advisable.
