Product description
This adapter brings the GPIO pins of the BBC Micro:Bit out to standard pin headers. Instead of wiring the individual contacts of the Edge Connector directly, all connections can be routed using standard jumper wires or directly into a breadboard. This saves assembly work and significantly reduces potential sources of error when setting up experiments.
The adapter plugs into the Micro:Bit and connects its Edge Connector to continuous female headers. All GPIO pins, the power supply, and the signal lines are immediately available. Multiple sensors or actuators can be connected in parallel without the need for additional wiring tricks. This is particularly practical when experimenting, as the setup can be changed frequently.
Typical applications include temperature and brightness measurements with several sensors at the same time, controlling motors and relays, and light signal projects with individual LEDs. The adapter is also suitable for recording button inputs in combinations, for example when controlling model vehicles or interactive installations.
The Micro:Bit and a suitable breadboard or jumper wire set are required. Programming is carried out using the usual development environment for the Micro:Bit. Depending on the connected components, an additional power supply may be required, for example for motors above a certain power rating.
