Product Description
An MPPT voltage regulator converts the variable output voltage of solar modules into a stable, programmable DC voltage. The module uses Maximum Power Point Tracking to find the solar module's optimum operating point and thereby maximize energy yield. With an output current of up to 5 A, the regulator is suitable for energy harvesting projects with solar panels in the watt to low tens-of-watts range.
The input voltage can be up to 60 V, while the output voltage can be continuously adjusted between 0 and 60 V. This allows different battery chemistries and voltage levels to be operated without additional converters. The USB interface and monitoring enable remote monitoring of charging current, voltage, and energy yield on a connected device.
Typical applications include portable power storage systems that are recharged via a solar module during the day, or stationary small-scale systems for powering IoT sensors, surveillance cameras, and radio equipment. In projects with variable solar availability, MPPT regulation protects both the batteries and the solar module by optimizing the operating point.
Operation requires a solar module with an open-circuit voltage of at least 6 V and a suitable battery or buffer battery. The output load should not exceed the 5 A limit; higher currents cause heat buildup in the enclosure.

Solar modules generate dangerous voltages even in cloudy conditions and must be protected against direct contact. The regulator is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes, and is not suitable for installation in buildings or connection to household electrical circuits.
