Product description
This gear motor combines a simple DC drive with a metal gearbox and can be operated between 3 and 6 volts. The 1:90 gear reduction greatly reduces the motor speed and significantly increases the available torque, allowing the motor to move loads that an unregulated motor could not handle.
The metal gearbox wears considerably more slowly during extended use than plastic gearboxes and withstands higher loads. If you need moderate speed with high torque, for example to drive a robot or operate a rack-and-pinion extension mechanism, this motor is a reliable solution. The TT design with standardized axle spacing fits common wheels and gearbox flanges.
The wide voltage range from 3 to 6 volts allows operation with either two alkaline batteries (approx. 3 volts) or three cells or a laboratory power supply (up to 6 volts), without requiring additional regulators. Speed control or smoother acceleration without jerking requires a PWM speed controller with the corresponding current consumption.
Safety information
This motor is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. Uncontrolled spinning can cause injuries if rotating parts are exposed or could become caught in long hair; protective covers are required. When powering the motor from the mains, consult a qualified electrician.
