Product description
The rotary potentiometer with three connection pins on a standard 2.54 mm pitch fits directly into a breadboard or perforated circuit board without requiring additional cables. The movable wiper travels along a resistive track; two of the three pins are connected to the ends of this track, while the third is connected to the wiper. When you turn the knob, the wiper moves and continuously changes the resistance between this connection and the end pins from 0 to 10 kOhm.
The voltage at the wiper can be read when both end pins are connected to the supply voltage and ground, and the wiper is connected to an analog input of the microcontroller. This allows the potentiometer to be used, for example, to manually adjust an LED's brightness, fine-tune an amplifier stage, or set a reference value. The arrangement of the pins in a single row also makes the component mechanically very stable on the breadboard.
Safety information
The potentiometer is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes, not for installation in household electrical circuits. Work on or near electrical installations must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
