Product description
The anemometer measures wind speeds using a rotating cup system and outputs the result as an analog voltage signal between 0 and 5 V. This makes it suitable for direct connection to analog inputs of common microcontrollers and data acquisition systems without additional signal conditioning.
The device requires a 12 V DC operating voltage for measurement, which must be provided separately. The current wind speed can be calculated directly from the 0–5-V output voltage. With a measuring range of up to 30 m/s, the anemometer is suitable for measurements in open areas such as open spaces, rooftops, and exposed locations, but does not meet the requirements of altitude measurements or particularly extreme wind conditions beyond this range.
Typical applications include wind turbine monitoring, weather monitoring systems, and anemometric data loggers designed to continuously record wind speed. In projects, it can be used to build wind speed measurement stations that transmit their data to a controller for analysis.
A separate 12 V power supply is required for operation. The M12 connection requires compatible cables. The device should be mounted in a freely exposed location to avoid turbulence and measurement errors caused by nearby obstacles.
