Product description
This USB charging controller converts input voltages from 8 to 35 V DC into a stable 5 V output voltage. Mobile devices and other USB-powered devices can be charged simultaneously via the four separate USB ports. The maximum current output per port is up to 8 A at full load; depending on the connected load, the available power is distributed among the active ports.
The module operates on the switching regulator principle and achieves high efficiency across the entire input voltage range. This eliminates the need for adjustment by external resistors and keeps the required cooling effort low. Overcurrent and short-circuit protection circuits prevent damage to the module and connected devices.
The module can be used wherever a higher DC voltage is available and several USB devices need to be charged simultaneously. In mobile power supply systems with 12 or 24 V battery backup, for example, it can power smartphones and tablets during fieldwork. The module is also suitable as a backup power supply for IoT projects with a solar system or as an addition to 12 V vehicle electrical systems.
The input voltage must remain within the specified range; if it falls below or exceeds this range, the module switches off automatically. Use in 230 V circuits requires a separate power supply unit with current limiting. Extended operation under full load may require ventilation or heat dissipation.
