Product Description
The time relay is triggered by external signals or a set time interval and switches up to two loads with a time delay. It requires an external power supply between 5 and 30 V, which is connected via the Micro-USB port. The switching contacts can handle up to 10 A at 250 V AC, making them suitable for standard low-voltage lines.
The delay can be set from 0 to 99 seconds in one-second increments. After the trigger, the relay waits for the programmed time before switching. Depending on the voltage source, the module can be connected directly to 5 V logic on a microcontroller board; at higher supply voltages, the trigger stage must be implemented separately.
Typical applications include automatic time-delayed switching in home automation, controlled power shutoff after a waiting period, or sequential processes in experimental setups. For example, a pump can be triggered by a switch, run automatically for 30 seconds, and then stop on its own.
In addition to a suitable power source (USB power adapter, battery, or laboratory power supply), operation requires the trigger voltage to be adapted to the logic level of the control board. The switching capacity is limited to loads of up to 10 A, including relays, small motors, and contactor control circuits, but not heaters or high-load appliances.
Safety Information
The relay is not intended for connection to the mains power circuit. It is intended exclusively for prototyping and experimental work. Circuits with mains voltage may only be assembled and tested by a qualified electrician.
