Product description
This timer relay module generates an adjustable delay between the input signal and the switching action. After being supplied with 12 V DC, the module waits for a trigger pulse at the input; it then counts down the set time and activates its relay output. This makes it possible to automate start sequences or switch loads on and off with defined delays.
The relay output directly switches up to 10 A at 250 V AC, which is sufficient for many household appliances and small industrial loads. If higher currents need to be switched, the relay can be used to control a contactor or a more powerful switching relay. The delay time is configured using a potentiometer or display and ranges from 0.1 to 99.9 seconds. Shorter or longer delays are not possible with this module.
Typical applications include switching on a pump after pressure has built up, switching off a motor with a run-on delay, or controlling lighting in stairwells at timed intervals. In automation projects, the module can also serve as simple logic for subsequent steps when multiple modules are combined.
Operation requires a regulated 12 V DC power source; a separate power supply is only unnecessary if the required power supply is already available in the project. The input requires a control signal of at least 2 V DC for reliable triggering. Work on or near power lines requires specialist expertise.
Safety information
The module is not intended for direct use in household electrical circuits or for permanent installation, but exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. The relay output carries mains voltage; installation work may only be carried out by qualified electricians. If you are unsure about its use, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
