Product Description
This vibration-controlled beetle kit provides a fun introduction to how mechanical vibrations can be converted into directional movement. The kit is assembled from scratch: learners install the motor mounts, wheels, and electronics step by step in the plastic housing while understanding how a simple drive principle works.
The system uses two vibration motors with eccentrically mounted masses of different sizes. Since they do not run synchronously, their operation creates a torque that moves the beetle forward, similar to how a real beetle crawls through asymmetrical movements. With just one on/off switch and two AAA batteries, the design is kept as simple as possible.
Once assembled, the beetle moves across flat, smooth surfaces and is suitable for classroom experiments that make mechanics tangible. It also works well as an introductory project for younger learners, as no programming is required and the assembly follows clear steps.
Two AAA batteries are required for operation and are not included. Assembly takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes and requires no special tools.
