Product description
This adapter breakout board bridges the gap between modern SMD packages and the classic breadboard footprint. It provides solder pads on both sides for different package types: one side for QFP32 and the other for SSOP32 or SOP32. This allows either of the two package types to be mounted and soldered, depending on the component available. The fine SMD solder pads with a 0.8-mm pitch are connected via internal traces to 32 plated-through holes arranged on the standard 2.54-mm DIP pitch.
Pin headers or short wire bridges are soldered into these outer holes to make the SMD connections pluggable. The principle is simple: each pin of the soldered IC is connected directly via a trace to its corresponding hole on the outer footprint. Since the board itself contains no components or circuit functionality, the soldered chip alone determines the function of each connection.
Typical applications include testing SMD components on breadboards, integrating them into existing perfboard assemblies with DIP sockets, or connecting them to programming devices designed for DIP packages. The board is also useful for reverse engineering or analyzing SMD components by providing convenient wiring options.
Soldering experience with SMD components is required to mount the IC. The quality of the SMD solder joints determines reliability. Pin headers and their attachment must be checked for correct installation before the circuit is put into operation.
