Product Description
The SPI MicroSD card module enables data to be read from and written to MicroSD or TF memory cards. Communication with the microcontroller takes place via the SPI interface using the SCK, MOSI, MISO, and CS signals.
The module is suitable, for example, for data loggers, sensor data recording, configuration files, or other applications in which larger amounts of data need to be stored outside the internal memory of a microcontroller.
The module features a voltage regulator for powering the memory card. Therefore, it is recommended to supply the module's VCC input with 5 V. If the VCC input is supplied with only 3.3 V, the memory card's supply voltage may be too low due to the upstream voltage regulator. This can lead to unstable behavior, particularly during initialization, reading, or writing.
The SPI signals can be used with 3.3 V microcontrollers such as the ESP32, Raspberry Pi Pico, or RP2040. The supply voltage at the VCC connection and the logic levels of the SPI interface should be considered separately.
In addition to the power supply, four SPI signals are required for connection: SCK, MOSI, MISO, and CS. On the software side, a suitable SD card library is required. In the Arduino IDE, the SD library can be used for this purpose, for example.
For maximum compatibility, using a FAT16- or FAT32-formatted memory card is recommended.

The module is intended exclusively for prototyping and for testing and development purposes. When connecting it, ensure that the power supply polarity is correct and that the voltage levels permitted by the microcontroller being used are observed.
