Product description

This adapter board connects surface-mount components in SOT23, SOP, or UMAX packages to standard perforated prototype boards. It eliminates the need to manually wire individual connections and allows SMD components such as voltage regulators, amplifiers, or logic ICs to be installed directly on a breadboard or experimental board.

The circuit board provides plated-through solder pads on both sides. Depending on the package type, the connections are predefined; the pinout used depends on the selected SMD component. This eliminates error-prone individual wiring while keeping the soldering effort manageable.

Applications include prototype projects where only SMD versions of individual components are available, or projects that require several different package types in one circuit. The adapter board significantly reduces assembly time when experimenting frequently with various SMD components.

The correct adapter board must be selected for the package being used. A magnifying glass or stereo microscope helps with precise soldering in the SMD area. The component itself must be purchased separately.
