Product Description
The electromagnetic relay with a 12 V DC coil makes it possible to switch circuits with higher voltages and currents. The coil resistance of 320 ohms results in a control current of approximately 37 milliamperes at the rated voltage. The minimum pickup voltage is 9 V, allowing the relay to be operated by signals from microcontroller outputs or less powerful power sources.
The switching module completely separates the control side from the load side. It switches load voltages up to 230 V AC and supports DC voltages up to 30 V. With a minimum contact switching duration of 1.5 milliseconds, switching operations take place without delay. The mechanical service life is approximately one million switching cycles.
Applications include remote control of lighting or heating, activation of alarm systems, and monitoring in industrial control cabinets. One example is controlling a 230 V household load through a sensor and microcontroller logic that supplies only low signal voltages. The relay is also suitable for prototypes and laboratory setups where mains voltage needs to be switched.
The coil is connected via screw terminals or solder lugs; the load-side contacts are also connected via screw terminals. A flyback diode or snubber is required to protect against voltage spikes when the coil is switched off. The control logic and the coil power supply must be dimensioned separately.
