Product description
This silicone tubing is used to transport liquids and gases in laboratory setups, prototypes, and measurement systems. The dimensions, with a 3 mm inner diameter and 5 mm outer diameter, fit typical experimental arrangements and common tube fittings.
The material withstands temperatures from −60 °C to +200 °C and therefore maintains its tightness even in thermal test series. Its food safety in accordance with FDA and EU 10/2011 allows it to be used for transporting liquids where contamination must be ruled out, such as when filling containers for measurement media or in analytical setups.
The material's closed-cell structure reduces deformation under mechanical stress more effectively than tubing with an open-pore structure. This makes the tubing less susceptible to signs of wear when repeatedly bent or pinched in laboratory setups.
The tubing sold by the metre allows you to cut the exact length required. Tube fittings with a 3 or 5 mm inner diameter in the version intended for tubing are common components of typical experimental setups and should be available. The material is not fully resistant to esters or, during prolonged storage, to some aliphatic hydrocarbons.
Safety information
Silicone tubing must not be routed directly alongside mains power cables. The product is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. A qualified electrician is required when working on or near electrical installations; consult a qualified electrician before commissioning if there is any uncertainty about suitable use.
