Flexible shaft coupling - dampens vibrations, 6 * 6.35 mm
Description
Product Overview
- Flexible shaft-to-shaft coupling for connecting the drive and driven shafts
- Available in several sizes
- Elastic connection dampens vibrations and torque peaks
- Easy installation without centering
Product Description
A shaft coupling connects two drive shafts so that torque can be transmitted while misalignment is tolerated. The elastic component features a flexible plastic or elastomer center positioned between two metal halves.
This design allows for a certain degree of radial and axial offset between the shafts and dampens vibrations and torque peaks. The connection is secured on both sides with screws or pins at the hubs, eliminating the need for time-consuming centering.
Applications include drive trains with electric motors, gearboxes, and pumps, where loads occur intermittently or the axes are not perfectly aligned. Typical applications include laboratory automation, model building, and prototype assemblies.
For selection, the motor's and driven equipment's rated torque is decisive, as the coupling is designed only up to its load limit. The mounting flanges must match the respective shaft diameters.
Safety Information
Rotating shaft components pose a risk of injury; protective measures and locking devices are required. The product is intended exclusively for building prototypes and for testing and development purposes. If you are unsure about sizing or safety, consult a qualified electrician before commissioning.
