Product Description
This RFID tag is a passive data carrier in credit-card format that operates at a frequency of 13.56 MHz and is suitable for identification and access control tasks. The system does not require its own power supply; instead, it is activated by the electromagnetic field of a reader.
The tag complies with the ISO/IEC 14443-A standard and therefore works with most commonly used RFID readers. The reading distance is approximately 10 centimeters with commercially available readers, making it suitable for near-field applications. The card design enables easy handling and storage, for example in card holders or as a portable ID card.
Typical applications include access control for buildings or machines, visitor badges at events, identification of materials in warehouses or libraries, and customer programs using customer cards. The memory capacity of up to 1 kilobyte is sufficient for IDs, number ranges, and small data fields.
Operation requires an RFID reader that also operates at 13.56 MHz and supports ISO/IEC 14443-A. The readers must be purchased separately because they require a power supply and specific software for data processing.
Safety Information
This tag is intended exclusively for testing and development purposes. Use in safety-critical systems, such as access controls for high-security areas, requires additional cryptographic security measures and must be coordinated with a qualified electrician. The tag contains no moving parts or hazardous substances and can be handled safely.
